The Rear Wheels

This is the rear wheel complex. This was where the terrible accident happened in France. Concorde ran over a 2ft spike that a previous plane had dropped. It burst a tyre which exploded and blew holes in a fuel tank above and the fire was ignited by sparks from severed electric cables that ran to the wheels. The German Tourists had know chance. Concorde was grounded and fuel tanks were strengthened with Kevalar and radial tyres added. To late the plane was phased out as to expensive to run. Fuel Consumption was 25,629 litres per hour.
