The Pit where Bikes are fixed

This area in the Velodrome is for the riders to rest and fix the Bikes with the aid of Special Frames to hold the bikes change the wheels and new chains.

The B of the Bang near the MCFC Stadium

This is the B of the Bang structure near Manchester City Football Ground. It was called after a statement made by the Athlete "Linford Christie". He said, I start to race on the B of the Bang of the Starting Pistol.

The B in the Bang was commissioned 2003 and completed in 2005. The designer was Thomas Heathwick. It is 56 meters high (184ft) and weighs 165 tonnes. Was built to with stand 100mph wind. The local people have nick named it Kerplunk.

Here we can see in closeup the B has structural problems. Some of the spikes have fallen off. So it is a danger to the public. There was a Legal Battle over the fault and the money it cost to build was recovered. (1.42 million ). In side there has been put a time capsule to be opened in the year 20030.
